Day 36: Jan. 26

Day 36 - A picture that makes you cry. I cannot recall a picture that has actually brought tears to my eyes, but I know that photos like these tug at my heart a bit and make it ache. And if I think too deeply about the lives of children and families that live in a city on a dump, then my heart begins to cry inside.

(Neither of this pictures are of Monterrey, Mexico, but Monterrey, I miss you.)

Faith Is Substance.

"When you’ve cried out and you’ve sat in a quiet place, meditating, praying, resting in silence – believe in love. Many believe with pride or assumption. Faith is substance. It’s being certain of what you don’t see and sure of what you are hoping for. (Hebrews 11:1) Being sure that God has heard your prayers, and that deliverance is on the way. This is, in my opinion and experience, the hardest part to praying like David. This is often when the devil tries to distract me from the truth that God cares, that He heals, that He restores, that He repairs, that He loves me and calls me His son. I’m learning to combat his lies with the truth of scripture promises. I’m slowly learning to trust God and know that He is fighting for me. Exodus 14:14 says, 'The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.'” -comeandlive.com

Day 35: Jan. 25

Day 35 - A picture that inspires you: I pretty much adore all of Rhee's pictures, however, the day I found this one- it was love at first sight.

She even sent me a hard copy of it in the mail.
It's wonderful.
And I taped it by my bedroom door so I see it every single day.
A simple reminder is always a good thing.

You know at Target...

how when you walk in, you have to make that two second decision about if you want to quick grab a slushy and a pretzel... so let's say you grab that quick, and then you walk to the bathrooms, because you suddenly have to pee, and then on your way to the photo area and returns corner, you pass the Target offices that has those mirror windows.
Do you think that the office workers on the other side stare at the billions of Target shoppers day in and day out?
As I was leaving Target today, I looked in the mirror and fixed my hair. When I kept walking toward the door to leave, all I could think was that there was a whole staff of workers in there who just watched and laughed me do that.
All I could think was that they do that everyday to the thousands of little kids with blue mouths and a slushy in hand... and they do it to the mom's who check the mirror quick, and the single men that take a quick glance.
I don't know; silly thoughts these all are.
It just crossed my mind longer than it should have, so I thought I should jot it down somewhere.

Day 34: Jan. 24

Day 34 - A picture of your morning.

My morning was this.
And my morning was like that.

But to be honest, I don't have a picture to show either of these things.
So just picture me at a computer in a computer lab at school...with my head in my arms on the keyboard half asleep.
Because that's what my first hour looked like/looks like every morning.

Day 21: Jan. 11

Day 21 - A picture of something you wish you could forget.

I guess remembering one bad thing to the next is what ultimately helps us piece the puzzles of stories together, and without the stories, we wouldn't have a complete life. Which means, there's not much I truly wish I could forget. But one evening that would be nice would be 7-31-08.

Day 20: Jan. 10

Day 20 - A picture of somewhere you’d love to travel.

As far as a trip of leisure goes, I definitely think Australia would be my first pick. I'm curious as to what the life of an aussie is like. I would also like to see what Christmas Day on the beach looks like. I just think there's some
things there that the US could never give me.

Africa is also a major future destination to me. I think it also gives an American like myself a new way to live. I want to live it for myself and experience it. And while I'm there, I'd like to give some shoes and spread love to those in need.

Day 16: Jan. 6

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you. While contemplating which inspirational friend of mine to place a picture of here, I thought of Rachel Oakley's blog. When I first discovered it, almost two years ago now, I believe- I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I even printed some of the pages off. She inspired me in so many ways. It never led to many cool creations of my own, but it's always the thoughts that count, right? Because I for one, definitely had the thoughts. Because it's a word blog, not a picture blog, I don't have a picture for today.
However, here's her awesome site to check out: http://racheloakley.com/

^it's never the same experience twice; just impactful.

"God loves every single one of us the same, it doesn't matter if you're the abused or the abuser...whenever you actually just take it, take it out of you, and place it up there on God's plate and say: 'Have it, I'm done with it.' That's when it actually happens."

-Clay Gill

New Year's Day!

I had a good night last night. A very good night. I can't remember many events from last year's New Year's Eve, but I think this years' was better.
I don't think I've ever made "REAL" resolutions before. I remember one year, -must have been 7th grade because Shelby and I were really close- she had decided to make a bunch, except she didn't really enjoy the word 'resolution'. I don't remember now which word she used instead, which probably makes for a really bad story right here, but whatever. I remember it.
And I don't remember often. So.
Anyways, this year I made a resolution. One that ties in a ton together, and that I'm actually going to do, accomplish and destroy. It's a biggy and probably the most common one out there.

My 2011 resolution is to eat better, exercise more, and lose weight.
My goal is too feel good. And shed some pounds before being half naked around Arizona is my normal living-area-yeah.
I'm pretty pumped, actually. I've been planning it for a few weeks even.
I don't care how much weight I need to lose- the "feeling good" and confident is really what I'm looking for. But I'm thinking I've got from Jan 1 til July 31... if I can't lose enough by then, then I'm pathetic- truly pathetic.
So I've said my good-bye's to soda for awhile. I guess I'm going to see if that whole "quit soda and instantly lose 5-10lbs" thing is true. I've also given up junk food and fast food.
GOOD BYE SUGAR, HELLO WATER!
It's not going to be fun, and I'm going to be spending lots of time on my treadmill, but all in all, I'm expecting awesome results.
Results that will ring me into the college life- as well as a new wardrobe.
:)

Day 11: Jan. 1

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.

You know, aside from high and ridiculous gas prices, I also really hate when you're forced to prepay.
